Rio da Barra is the most isolated beach and the furthest from Trancoso’s famous Quadrado. Upon entering the beach, the first impression is of the impressive colourful cliffs, which seem to travel the entire spectrum from red to pink and ochre. As its name suggests it is on this beach that you find the mouth of the Rio da Barra providing fresh water and at low tide natural pools are created.

Almost deserted, Rio da Barra has a long stretch of fine sand, there are no kiosks, bars or restaurants on the beach, so you can be at one with nature with no interruption. Yet, within just a few minutes’ walk you can find a choice of restaurants, where you can enjoy tasty Bahian cuisine.   If you are looking houses for sale in Trancoso, Brazil in a peaceful tropical setting, Rio de Barra could be your idea of beachside bliss.
